48 Buick - Rain Man ?

This 48 Buick Roadmaster was the first car that I came across that the Cruise In yesterday. It looks exactly like the one in the movie Rain Man with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise (although I believe the Buick in the movie was a 1949 Buick Roadmaster). Anyway, the white chain across was unavoidable – so if you can look past that, you’ll see a beautiful automobile.

“Back in the Day… ” Buick made sure that their automatic transmission was known – and included its trade mark “Dyna Flow” as a badge on the vehicle. Dyna Flow made for a smoooth – shiftless drive without the surge experienced in other transmission of other autos.
