Beached
Along the very south end of Daytona Beach (Daytona Beach Shores and Ponce Inlet) you can find some lovely homes sitting atop the dunes – barrier dunes protecting the shoreline and the turtle nests. Some think the houses intrude on the natural land and seascape – they may, but I guess we get used to what we see.
Our toys are kept close to the dunes so they don’t get caught in the surf and end out at sea, riderless. The lighthouse is right in back of me.
This is one of my shots from August 8, 2008 (08-08-08) – a grand summer day in Florida.
and, Oh by the way …
“….American political system “dysfunctional,” riddled with “brain-dead partisanship” and permanent campaigning. …. American people needed to deliver a “shock” to Congress by voting incumbents out en masse and replacing them with people interested in reforming the process and governing for the good of the people, rather than deep-pocketed special-interest groups.”
Love Green
Saw a clutch of Model A’s corralled at a local buffet joint today. Took the opportunity to snap a few photos. I have a thing for green. I love green ties, but its difficult to get them to work correctly with average trad duds. I don’t like olive green, but I do love lime green, and Kelly green. Anyway, as you can see I got the green in this spare tire. Oh, I guess you can see my freekin’ bald head in this one too. Maybe I should paint it green!
Mid Century Models – Some great photography
Thought I’d pass along this gentlemen’s flickr site. I guess he build all of this and used model cars as well to show mid century living’s two biggest endeavors – homes and cars. Hope you like it.
