How dare you!

He was so bummmmed about this haircut.  Here – the mean lady sprayed him with water and wants to cut his hair….

I stole this photo from my daughter-in-law Brenda – only because the face tells the story.  This kid is so cute! (it’s the family genes ya know!)

How dare you!

Two favorites – Chevy Bel Air and a LaSalle

with 5 comments

Although these two cars are almost worlds apart in time 1936 to 1958, they both have their own elegance.  In the LaSalle below, I really like how the clouds came through in the front fenders.  Hope you like them.

I’m for sale

Or at least some of my photo prints are.

Almost a month ago I showed some of my prints to the owners of a framing and art shop in the College Park section of Orlando.  She took six prints right away and asked for seven more.  I needed to write a bio for myself so I dashed off a couple of paragraphs about myself and why I love photography.  I also needed a bio photo and I may use this one – So what do you think?  Does this patch-mad say photo-artist? or dork?  Even if you comment with dork – I’ll still post it.

Random photos and thoughts

I can’t seem to settle on any one thing to blog about tonite… so I’m just going to post some photos that I like.  Perhaps add a few thoughts along the way.

Now that’s a big ride… with the top down champagne will spray in your face at 35mph.

141 Ridgewood Ave

The house I grew up in.

When we lived there it was all white with forest green shutters.  A short walk to The High Lane Club, scene of explosives and fish homicide, as a friend put it.  A lovely place.  My Dad paid $35,000 for this place in 1959 and today it is up for sale in the high $300,000.

Light em up

Always liked these two photos – the smirk on this guys face –

The patch mad kit

This is my kit for tomorrow — breaking out the patch mad – we finally have permission – a decree from Washington D.C.

Crunchy Onion Chicken

with 5 comments

This is actually FRENCH’s Crunchy Onion Chicken – and it is goo-ooo-o-ood!

You know when you come home from a hard day of dragon-slaying and sit down at the computer with a Manhattan (or two), you start to get hungry.  Then, you remember – two months ago you made this recipe from the can of French’s French Fried Onion Rings… and now you have to have it!

So here you go — bon appetit!  (KSA — please help me with my French!)

I’m leaving the photos LARGE so you can read the recipe.  I made a killer Eggplant Rissoto the other night and I have plenty left over… so that’s what I’m having with this chicken tonight – pairing it all with a bottle of Pinot Grigio.  In about an hour, I’ll update this post with the results.

The inspiration!

The Method

OK — here’s the result – it was good… kinda had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner… so— le-see, that’s two Manhattans and two Pinot Grigios… and here I am tryin to make this all good.

Here’s the pic.

Buon Apitito!

Does anyone else go to bed at 8:00 PM ??

Casa Feliz – Winter Park, FL

with 6 comments

Casa Feliz, a Spanish style masonry farmhouse complete with bell tower, arched doorways,  and courtyards,is a prime example of the work of designer James Gable Rogers II, Winter Park’s best known architect.  For over 60 years, his prolific work helped to define the unique residential character of Winter Park.  Rogers is also known as the architect of other Florida landmarks including the Florida State Supreme Court Building in Tallahassee.

The painstakingly refurbished home is now open as a museum on Sundays from 12-3.
