Halloween – Collie Style

with 2 comments

Went to Pet Smart to get some Eukenuba as we were totally OUT!  And there in the center isle was the CLEARANCE rack of doggie Halloween costumes.  Originally $19.99 and 75% OFF – we pounced on this rig!

My tail doesn’t look to poofy does it???

New blog

I’ve decided to keep my photography blog separate from my sartorial interests.  I just makes sense – and I can organize my task and content a bit better that way.  You can find my new blog at here .

Cheers,

My Nantucket Red

with 7 comments

Came up with this cocktail hour offering – attempting to match the color newly acquired Nantucket Reds® from Murray’s.  Later this weekend I’ll put the kit on a model it all for ya!

The Nantucket Red

Here are the mixology instructions:

In a shaker half filled with ice

2 oz of your favorite vodka

2 oz of cranberry-pomegranate juice

1 oz of orange juice (not from concentrate)

Squeeze of a wedge of lime

Shake and pour into a nice crystal beverage glass or martini glass

Note:  This beverage is nice but a tad tart – some folks probably like it that way.  You might consider adding ½ oz. of simple syrup to take the bite off.

Simple Syrup

2 cups of water

2 cups of sugar

Heat to a boil and all sugar granules are dissolved and then let it cool.  Keeps in the refrigerator forever.

Putting it together

The Sound of the Sea

with 5 comments

Early Morning

The sea awoke at midnight from its sleep,
And round the pebbly beaches far and wide
I heard the first wave of the rising tide
Rush onward with uninterrupted sweep;
A voice out of the silence of the deep,
A sound mysteriously multiplied
As of a cataract from the mountain’s side,
Or roar of winds upon a wooded steep.
So comes to us at times, from the unknown
And inaccessible solitudes of being,
The rushing of the sea-tides of the soul;
And inspirations, that we deem our own,
Are some divine foreshadowing and foreseeing
Of things beyond our reason or control.
