Buick Eight

This 1950 Sedanette isa great looking car.  In the 1950 model year, Buick sold approximately 600,000 cars +/-  that year!  Their rival at the time was Plymouth.  Plymouth won out, but the stately Buick was much grander.

Nice Buick – 1962 Invicta Convertible

with 4 comments

I’ve always liked Buicks. This is a classic from 1962. Hope you like it.

When I was in high school, my friend’s parents had a 1962 Buick Electra Convertible – White with Red Leather Interior.  It was beautiful.  This same friend – his Dad had a 1962 Buick Invicta 2Dr Coupe (beige) as a company car.  I think they were a Buick family.

I wanted to do some comparison of color vs black&white – looking for a more dramatic effect in the photos. Offer any suggestions you wish. Maybe because the car is a 1938 the black and white seems a bit more nostalgic and CLASSY!

48 Buick – Rain Man ?

with one comment

This 48 Buick Roadmaster was the first car that I came across that the Cruise In yesterday. It looks exactly like the one in the movie Rain Man with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise (although I believe the Buick in the movie was a 1949 Buick Roadmaster). Anyway, the white chain across was unavoidable – so if you can look past that, you’ll see a beautiful automobile.

“Back in the Day… ” Buick made sure that their automatic transmission was known – and included its trade mark “Dyna Flow” as a badge on the vehicle. Dyna Flow made for a smoooth – shiftless drive without the surge experienced in other transmission of other autos.

Working with Cars

I’ll be posting some photos of classic American automobiles.  I went to a “Cruise In” today and some of the cars displayed were absolutely beautiful – really made me nostalgic for “the good old days”.

Here’s a 1938 Buick
